Post Easter Service

Hey all, after the service on Easter morning, hang around for a little bit. We're going to be making our own stepping stones for the soon to be prayer and meditation garden. Pretty cool, right? Your artwork, in stone, for all to see for a long time.

The reason we're doing these stones on Easter is that we'll be using bits of glass and such to put together the designs. This process is called mosaic. In the early church, mosaic was a popular way to create religious art. So what we're doing is a throwback to about 2000 years ago.

If you need some ideas for what to put on your stone, check out some early church symbols. We'll have some drawn out for examples, but of course you can do whatever you want. It will be fantastic. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Plunge PIzza Night

Went over to the parsonage and made some awesome pizzas. We made some milkshakes and went out to play games. the games were fun because we got to run around after we got are belly stuffed with very good pizza that we made. then got to play out side some more while annie made some very creamy milk shakes we then played more games to burn off the sugar. we are now playing spoons.

What's In a Name?

"Plunge" is sort of a funny name for a youth group. The very word summons images of deep sea divers or clogged toilets. We, students and leaders, are neither of those things. "Plunge" rather is a verb representing how we intend to engage our lives growing with Christ.

to cast oneself, or fall as if cast, into water, a hole, etc.

to rush or dash with headlong haste: to plunge through a crowd.

to throw oneself impetuously or abruptly into some condition, situation, matter, etc.

take the plunge, to enter with sudden decision upon an unfamiliar course of action, as after hesitation or deliberation: She took the plunge and invested her entire savings in the plan.

The Israelites, while crossing the Jordan into the Promised Land, took the plunge into the icy river in trust. This trust was rewarded by God when God stopped the water flowing and allowed the people to cross on dry land. (Joshua 3)

In another instance, the disciple Peter took the plunge by getting out of the boat to walk to Christ on the water. As long as Peter kept is focus on Jesus, he did just fine on the water. (Matt. 14:22-34 )

We are Christians who want to take a risk, invite God to do amazing things in our lives, and have fun doing it. So come take the Plunge with us....
